Community Design Fort Worth and AIA Fort Worth invite you for a discussion and tour with Transform 1012.
Carlos Gonzalez-Jaime, Executive Director of Transform 1012 N. Main Street and John Stevenson, Vice President of The Projects Group will take you on a tour of the building before it is transformed into The Fred Rouse Center for Arts and Community Healing. On this tour you will discover the building's history, the history of Mr. Fred Rouse and the future programming for The Center.
The Center honors the life and memory of Mr. Fred Rouse, a Black non-union butcher and father who was lynched by a white mob in Fort Worth in 1921. The Center, in an act of reparative justice, returns resources to the communities that were targeted for violence and economic marginalization by the KKK - namely Black, Catholic, Hispanic, Immigrant, Jewish and LGBTQQ2SPIAA+ populations.
