Are cars to blame for the housing shortage?: WORTH KNOWING WEDNESDAYS





Our region, Dallas-Fort Worth, the country's fourth- largest metro, is mentioned in this study. Residents that live within a 3 mile radius of "activity centers" drive less, saving time, money, and decreasing CO2 emissions. Redesigning streets to safely accommodate multi-modal users is necessary.


This Slate article goes on to say "America’s automobile-dependent transportation system is making it impossible for us to fix a shortage of homes that now numbers in the millions, one reason that a new home is harder to afford than it has been in decades."
